Drupal 7 Update
Drupal 7 is here! We are building sites on our staging server now and can move new sites into production now. We'll be able to copy Drupal 6 sites into Drupal 7 during Summer Quarter. If you'd like to volunteer to go early for this, please let us know.
Highlights
- Batch file uploads: no more uploading one file at a time
- Draft functionality provided by the Workbench module
- CAS login
- RSS Publishing and Feed Aggregator
- Removed "content" from URLs
- Better tools for site administrators to manage their site and divide it into sections using taxonomy
- Removed quotas
- Increased the maximum allowable file size from 20 mb to 50 mb
- Site Administrators and Advanced Authors have more flexibility
- We also fixed several bugs, such as the Recent News feature that dynamically populates the Recent News widget, the A to Z index can now link to anchors, and more.
- Masquerade feature for Site Administrators to simulate their users for easier troubleshooting and support.
- Improved the Hero rotator module to allow for easy reordering of Hero items.
Note: If you'd like to reorder your Drupal 6 hero items, email us and we can now reverse the order from oldest first to newest first.
Drupal 7 is a lot more extensible than Drupal 6 was, so if there are features you need but we haven’t included, please let us know what they are so we can add them. Chances are you aren’t the only one asking for something and we do want to accommodate your needs.
